EY welcomes renowned policy and tax professional, Dr. Jack Mintz

TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, EY announced that prominent business, policy and tax professional, Dr. Jack Mintz, has joined the Canadian firm as a National Strategic Policy Advisor. 

"As part of EY's team, Dr. Mintz will offer strategic management advice to clients across all industries, help enterprises develop sound strategies and offer insight on public and tax policy," says Alycia Calvert, EY's Tax Managing Partner. Dr. Mintz brings national and international experience consulting on broad policy matters for the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Serving on several corporate boards and engaged by many large multinational enterprises, Jack has extensive experience solving complex business problems and advising on strategic direction to corporations around the world. Dr. Mintz has also developed policy with federal and provincial governments in Canada. He is currently President's Fellow, School of Public Policy, at the University of Calgary, serves on multiple corporate boards and is a well-published thought leader. On 21 September, Dr. Mintz will also join Don Drummond, former Associate Deputy Minister, Finance Canada on a panel moderated by Fred O'Riordan, EY's National Tax Advisor at EY's Canadian Leaders' Forum (20-22 September 2015) in Ottawa. Among other subjects, the panel will explore ways to promote fairness and growth in the tax system, including the rationale for, and the challenges posed by, a dual income tax system for employment income and capital income. Related topics – including whether there is a growing fiscal imbalance between the federal and provincial levels of government and, if so, the implications for tax policy – will also be discussed.
