Fact Check - Hudak to end Wynne corporate welfare to pay for his own corporate welfare
TORONTO, May 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Tim Hudak's promise of 30 percent reduction in corporate taxes would mean $3-billion tax cut for the wealthiest corporations, based on the 2014/15 budget estimate that Ontario will take in $10.25-billion in corporate taxes.
Tim Hudak says he wants to end Kathleen Wynne's corporate welfare. But really he wants to give his own $3 billion a year hand out to corporations without ensuring those companies are creating jobs or investing in Ontario. Sound familiar?
Call it a giveaway or a hand out or anything else, Kathleen Wynne and Tim Hudak both want to give away $3 billion a year with no string attached.
Only Andrea Horwath has a plan to end free corporate give aways and reward companies who invest and create jobs in Ontario with:
- A job investment tax credit that would reward job creators in Ontario;
- A manufacturing capital tax credit that would encourage investment.
Tim Hudak and Kathleen Wynne are creating a fake fight over the best way to reward companies that ship jobs overseas. Are they for real?
