FACT CHECK: Hudak's Plan for a Million Jobs in Mexico?
TORONTO, May 21, 2014 /CNW/ - While Hudak has said he wants all Ontarians to have good paying jobs, his visit to Horizon Plastics today shows us what type of jobs future we can expect if he gets his way.
Horizon Plastics attempted to roll back wages for their employees at their Cambridge plant after opening up a "satellite" operation in Mexico's tax-free zone. The company locked out the employees in January 2014. The lockout ended January 28, when employees were presented with the prospect of their jobs being exported to Mexico.
Like the Liberals, Hudak's plan is to reward companies like Horizon by cutting their corporate taxes while they ship jobs out of Ontario. Is Hudak's plan for a million jobs in Mexico? That doesn't make sense.
