Fact Check: Liberals continue to drag their feet on Auto Insurance

TORONTO, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - When the Liberals needed to save their own seats last year, they promised to reduce Auto Insurance rates by 15%. But once the threat of an election passed, they went to helping out insurance companies, and leaving drivers waiting. After moving at light-speed to help well-connected insurance companies save billions, Ontario drivers are still waiting to see the savings.

Many drivers have seen their rates go up, while the Liberals have told over-stretched families they are going to have to keep waiting for companies to get around to passing on savings. Meanwhile the Liberals trumpet "approved" rates that have not yet been passed onto drivers, more than a year after they promised to bring down rates.

It's clear that when it comes to the political interests of the Liberal Party, the Liberals go into overdrive, but when drivers are promised savings, they're stuck in neutral.
