TORONTO, Nov. 26, 2015 /CNW/ - Eight weeks into the Fall TV season, new data from Numeris confirms that CTV delivers the Top 2 most-watched new programs among total viewers and A18-49 with QUANTICO and BLINDSPOT, and at least seven of the Top 10 most-watched programs with the key demos. Bolstered by new recruit Alex Parish (Priyanka Chopra) and the mysterious Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), QUANTICO and BLINDSPOT have become instant hits, both breaking into Canada's Top 10 most-watched programs overall. In fact, BLINDSPOT was the fall's first new series to receive a full-season order, followed shortly after with an early Season 2 renewal, while QUANTICO marked fall's second new series to get a full-season order.
CTV is also home to the top returning series among the key demos, with THE BIG BANG THEORY #1 among A25-54, A18-34, and A18-49 for the sixth year in a row. Sophomore hits GOTHAM and THE FLASH continue their heroic runs, both Top 10 series with the key demos, while legal thriller HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, starring Emmy winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Viola Davis, continues to hold court as a Top 10 series with A18-34 and A18-49.
CTV's perennial hits also continue to deliver huge audiences. Currently in its 12th season, medical-drama GREY'S ANATOMY (#4) is as gripping as ever, and a Top 8 series with all demos. Also, ratings stalwarts CRIMINAL MINDS (#7), CASTLE (#13), and BLUE BLOODS (#14) continue to deliver Top 20 audiences.
Overall, CTV has more Top 10 and Top 20 series than all other networks with total viewers and the key demos. CTV continues its strong lead over the next closest competitor in primetime, ahead by double digits with total viewers (+62%), A25-54 (+65%), A18-34 (+68%), and A18-49 (+70%), and winning five out of seven nights with A25-54 and A18-49.
"The continued mass appeal of the CTV schedule is a result of our most recent wave of new hits and the ongoing strength of our high performing returning programs," said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks, and CraveTV. "We look forward to an unprecedented midseason schedule which is sure to deliver an even bigger story for CTV in 2016."
