Fallsview Casino's February lineup showcases comedy, music and dance

NIAGARA FALLS, ON, Nov. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - Forget heart-shaped chocolates with red roses or Bridget Jones's Diary with Ben and Jerry's ice cream; a live performance from Fallsview Casino's concert lineup is the perfect way to set the mood this February.

Rock out with multi-platinum super group Matchbox Twenty when they make their highly anticipated debut at Fallsview Casino on February 19 & 20. Celebrating their newly released album, "North", the band will hit the stage of the Avalon performing the smash hit "She's So Mean" as well as past classics such as "Push," "Bent" and "Unwell". In addition to more than 30 million records sold worldwide, Matchbox Twenty has also earned countless accolades, including Grammy and American Music Award nominations and the 2004 People's Choice Award for "Favorite Musical Group".

Laugh out loud with one of the funniest comics of her time, Wanda Sykes. Known for her salty stand-up act and comedic roles in film and on television, Sykes ranks among Entertainment Weekly's 25 Funniest People In America and has earned multiple credits including four Emmys. Most recognizable for her role in the CBS series "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," Sykes has appeared in several feature films including "Monster-In-Law", as well as starred in her own late night talk show on FOX, "The Wanda Sykes Show", and her newest HBO comedy special, "I'ma Be Me".

Experience a captivating production of Dance Star, which tells the coming-of-age story of a young dancer who dreams of stardom. Starring Edyta Śliwińska and Alec Mazo from "Dancing with the Stars", this unforgettable show offers a blend of contagious rhythms and breathtaking choreography featuring classically trained dancers.

To close out its February lineup, Fallsview Casino celebrates the amorous month with sensational concerts by The Great Italian Tenors. Accompanied by a 21-piece orchestra, the three acclaimed musicians will illuminate the Avalon with renditions of "Imagine" and "Hey Jude" by The Beatles along with classical favourites such as "O Sole Mio" and "Besame Mucho".
