Government of Canada invests more than $3,000,000 to support improvements to 31 community infrastructures

Families in the Chaudière-Appalaches region will enjoy improved recreational spaces and modernized community facilities thanks to $3,046,309 investment from the Government of Canada. The amounts granted are in addition to investments from other partners, for a combined total of more than $8,6M for 31 community infrastructure improvement projects in the region.
The contributions were announced today by Joël Lightbound, Member of Parliament for Louis-Hébert and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.
The funding for the Chaudière-Appalaches communities will support 31 different projects, including the redevelopment of community spaces, children's playgrounds, bike paths, hiking trails, community centres and arenas.
The investment was made under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), a $300 million fund that was established to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary through investments in community spaces that bring Canadians together. Up to $63.5 million of this amount will be invested in Quebec.

The planned expansion includes building a new community hall that can accommodate 250 people. The contribution from CED is intended for all project costs. |

The project consists of renovating and improving the Frampton arena.
