Family businesses to be honoured

OAKVILLE, ON, April 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Three Canadian family businesses have been nominated for the prestigious Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Award (FEYA) to be awarded by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) at a gala celebration on Saturday, June 8^th in Toronto.

This year's nominees include The Dempsey Corporation of Toronto, Ontario; Archway Insurance of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Canyon Plumbing & Heating Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta.  The FEYA Award was established in 1986 to celebrate and recognize the importance of family enterprise given they constitute upwards of 80% of all business worldwide and create an estimated 70-90% of global GDP.  Prior recipients of the annual award include companies such as Rogers Communications, E.D. Smith & Sons Ltd., The Pioneer Group, St. Hubert Bar-BQ, Samuel Son & Co., The Bragg Group of Companies, Beau's All Natural Brewing Company, Tilden Rent-A-Car, Sifton Properties and The Bentall Group.
