Family Channel is abuzz with A Bug's Life

TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - Astral Media's Family Channel presents the network premiere of the Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios animated feature, A Bug's Life. Featuring a star-studded voice cast and crawling with fun, the miniature world of A Bug's Life premieres Saturday, April 17 at 6 p.m. ET/PT on Family Channel.

Life is no picnic for the ants on Ant Island. Each summer a bullying gang of greedy grasshoppers descends upon the colony to demand a hefty portion of the ants' hard-earned harvest. Flik, an original thinker out of step with the rest of the colony, takes it upon himself to get outside help and mistakenly enlists a troupe of bumbling bug performers from a flea circus. Working together in their new-found friendship, the ants and the circus bugs prepare for a climactic confrontation with the grasshoppers.

A Bug's Life features the voices of David Foley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hayden Panettiere, Kevin Spacey, Denis Leary, Phyllis Diller and Bonnie Hunt. Directed by Oscar(R)-winner John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton with original music by Oscar(R)-winner Randy Newman.

Following the premiere of A Bug's Life, Family Channel will air Handy Manny Big Race at 7:35 p.m. ET/PT. This special episode follows Handy Manny and his tools as they hit the speedway for the Wood Valley 500. Starring Wilmer Valderrama, guest starring NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. and N'Sync's Lance Bass.
