TORONTO, March 31, 2015 /CNW/ - Toronto's Farah Mahmood has won the coveted "Woman of Achievement – International" award in a glittering ceremony in Los Angeles. This title adds to Mahmood's other pageant success, the title of "Universal Beauty" won at the Mrs Universe pageant in Aruba in 2013.
"Woman of Achievement International is a wonderful competition that goes beyond external beauty," says Mahmood, "it celebrates women with substance, with adjudication being driven by the competitor's platform.
Mahmood is the Founder and CEO of Farah Fit, an organisation focusing on women's empowerment through health and fitness. She is a Canadian certified fitness trainer. It was on the basis of Farah Fit's achievements that she was selected for this title. "I am so privileged to be communicating Farah Fit's message to an international audience and being recognised for the brand's achievements," a delighted Farah Mahmood exclaims. "I am honoured and humbled to be the first Pakistani/Asian woman ever to win this pageant.
Mahmood is now planning to expand her fitness business beyond Canadian shores, bringing the message of Farah Fit to women with under-privileged backgrounds.
