FARO Releases FARO Zone 2D, a New 2D Diagramming Software with Unique Work-Flow Interface, Optimized for Law Enforcement, Fire Service, and Insurance Professionals
LAKE MARY, Fla., Sept. 21, 2016 /CNW/ -- FARO® (NASDAQ: FARO), the world's most trusted source for 3D measurement and imaging solutions for factory metrology, product design, public safety forensics, construction BIM/CIM and 3D solutions and services applications, announces the release of FARO® Zone 2D, a completely new diagramming software for law enforcement, fire service, and insurance professionals.
FARO Zone 2D is the next generation diagramming software for professionals who wish to quickly create accurate 2D diagrams without the complexity of traditional CAD programs. FARO Zone 2D features a new, intuitive command interface using "Work-Flow Ribbons"™ that allow users to quickly create diagrams for state crash reports, crime scene diagrams, pre-incident plans, and fire-protection plans. Besides providing a user-friendly interface, the software maintains a comprehensive feature set, backwards compatibility with previous 2D diagramming software from CAD Zone and ARAS 360, and compatibility with other popular CAD software applications.
"While FARO is the leader in providing 3D measurement technology, we also recognize how important it is for many of our public safety forensics customers to create accurate, 2D diagrams," stated Joe Arezone, FARO's Chief Commercial Officer. "FARO Zone 2D is the ideal software application for those who want to recreate scenes from manual measurements, total station data, aerial photographs, and orthographic projections of point cloud data."
Mr. Arezone added, "We are confident that new and existing FARO software users will view FARO Zone 2D as the future of public safety diagramming software. We have paid close attention to the work-flows that our customers use and, through the use of work-flow command ribbons, made it easier than ever to quickly create diagrams with the detail and the formats needed for public safety applications."
Large public safety agencies and reporting companies are encouraged to contact FARO to learn how FARO Zone 2D can be seamlessly integrated into their standard electronic crash reports and incident reports. Diagrams can be saved to several standard image formats for integration into reports. Many parameters can be defined by the system administrator to control how diagrams are saved by FARO Zone 2D and integrated into the agency's standard reports.
