FORT MCMURRAY, AB, Sept. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - NEAFAN, the North East Alberta Fetal Alcohol Network, services and supports Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders within the Wood Buffalo Municipal Area. To increase public awareness and distribute information about FASD in our community, NEAFAN is presenting FASD Awareness Day on Sunday, September 9th, 2018, from 9am to 4pm at Mac Island Park in Fort McMurray.
NEAFAN professionals will answer questions and provide information regarding the risks of drinking alcohol while pregnant, the effects of FASD, and available services. This year NEAFAN is supporting the Red Shoes Rock FASD awareness campaign. We invite you and your families to join the conversation and rock some red shoes as we harness that striking image to educate and inform all of our communities about FASD, its prevention, and how we can help to support children, youth, adults, caregivers, and communities whose lives are impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Join us at Mac Island Park on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, FASD Awareness Day, and become FASD Informed. For more information about FASD visit our website, www.neafan.ca.
