Shop 'til You Drop for a Cause was created by Jeannine Rothblott to benefit children born with broken immune systems. This genetic defect, called Primary Immunodeficiency Disease, affects an approximate 13,000 Canadians. With the most severe forms, even a common cold can be fatal. Funds raised through Shop 'til You Drop are used by the Canadian Immunodeficiency Society (CI Society) to provide emergency financial assistance to families with children in hospital, public education on the 10 Warning Signs and research into a cure.

Richard Thompson , Executive Director for the CI Society, says "We are very grateful for the support of the community. We are a small national healthcare organization doing big things in the field of immunodeficiency. For example, we provide national video conferences in which physicians from different hospitals across the country discuss difficult patient cases.
