TORONTO, Feb. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Fasken welcomes partner Maureen Berry, associates Emily Hubling and Anna Chen, and Estate Law Clerk Krista Brown to the Private Client Services Group (PSC) in the Toronto office.
Maureen's practice is focused on wills, estate planning, domestic and international trusts and estates, charities and non-profit organizations, private corporation taxation and executive compensation. She provides private client matter advice to prominent Canadian and international families and individuals, financial planning firms and advisors, corporate trustees, corporations, owner-managers, family business and charitable organizations.
Emily is experienced in estate law. Her practice includes estate planning, preparing wills, powers of attorney and trusts for clients and advisors. She also advises estate trustees on complex estate matters including intestacies, cross-border matters and contested estates.
Anna prosecutes and defends claims, acting for executors, administrators, trustees, heirs and beneficiaries. Her estate litigation expertise includes advising on claims such as, to vary wills concerning disinheritance or insufficient provision, for unjust enrichment, to challenge or validate an alleged will or trust, and also applications to remove an executor or trustee and proceedings to obtain court interpretation of wills and related documents. She also advises on family law. She is currently working at Fasken's Vancouver office, and will be relocating to Toronto.
Krista is experienced in managing complex, high-value estates with a focus on applications to appoint trustees, testacies, intestacies and assisting executors with distributions and accounting to beneficiaries. Her experience also includes drafting wills, trusts, codicils, powers of attorney and cohabitation and marriage agreements.
