OTTAWA, July 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Faye Ackermans reappointed to TSB for three-year term.
Today, the Honourable Karina Gould, Minister of Democratic Institutions, announced the reappointment of Faye Ackermans to the Canadian Transportation Accident Investigation and Safety Board (TSB).
First appointed in July 2014, Mrs. Ackermans brings to the Board 25 years' experience in the rail industry, the majority of that time having been spent in senior rail safety and regulatory affairs positions. A stellar career at Canadian Pacific Railway included a stint as General Manager of Safety and Regulatory Affairs, during which CP saw a 65 per cent decrease in rail accidents and a 70 per cent reduction in personal injuries.
As well, Mrs. Ackermans has served on numerous rail industry boards and committees, including the Safety and Operations Management Committees of the Railway Association of Canada and the American Association of Railroads.
Her appointment to a three-year term (part-time) is effective July 2, 2018.
This reappointment is being made following an open, transparent and merit-based selection process.
