FCPC responds to launch of federal government's food label consultations
TORONTO, July 14, 2014 /CNW/ - The Nutrition Facts table (NFt) is a trusted tool Canadians use every day to help them make informed food choices. It's on all of our food manufacturing members' products, in Canadian households from coast-to-coast.
The federal government is proposing significant changes to the NFt. Given the NFt's prevalence in people's lives, each proposal warrants thorough review.
Food & Consumer Products of Canada (FCPC) looks forward to continuing our work with the federal government to increase consumer use and understanding of the NFt and ensure the proposed changes are based on the most reliable science and strongest evidence, and that it's helpful to Canadians in their efforts to make the nutrition choices that are right for them. At the end of the day, that's what's important.
