OTTAWA, June 8, 2016 /CNW/ - PSAC members who work within Treasury Board, Parks Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are taking part in actions all across Canada today.
Their aim is to send a clear message to the government that they expect a quick and fair approach to contract negotiations when the union and Treasury Board negotiators return to the bargaining table this month.
PSAC members maintain that when public service workers benefit from decent working conditions, it helps enhance the quality of the services that they deliver to all Canadians.
Real change means respect for workers
"Despite statements of support for public service workers and the promise of real change, the Liberals are sticking with the Conservative bargaining agenda," said Robyn Benson, National President of PSAC.
"We expect the government's promise of respect and fairness to be kept in the current round of collective bargaining," said Benson. "They need to negotiate a fair collective agreement with PSAC members."
