~ Announces changes on Fidelity AsiaStar® Fund ~
TORONTO, June 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Fidelity Investments Canada ULC today announced that effective July 1, 2012, Catriona Martin, a 15-year Fidelity veteran, will be joining Fidelity's Canadian fixed income team as co-manager of Fidelity Investments Canada's institutional and retail bond portfolios. Martin will join current co-portfolio manager Brian Miron on several portfolios available to Canadian retail and institutional clients.

Currently Martin is portfolio manager on a number of fixed income portfolios for Fidelity's U.S. clients. Martin joined Fidelity in 1997 as a trader for Fidelity's Municipal Money Market group and has held increasingly senior roles across Fidelity's fixed income organization. She was named as a portfolio manager on Fidelity's Stable Value Team nearly four years ago and has demonstrated success and leadership in developing investment solutions and delivering strong institutional portfolio performance for clients. Prior to becoming a portfolio manager, Martin's 15 years at Fidelity included three years covering Canadian markets and trading Canadian securities.
Jeff Moore, current co-manager on a number of Canadian fixed income portfolios will stay on the Fidelity Tactical Fixed Income Fund and Fidelity Premium Tactical Fixed Income Capital Yield Private Pool. Moore will continue his responsibilities associated with various global fixed income portfolios. David Prothro, currently co-manager on Fidelity Corporate Bond Fund will assume an advisory role on Fidelity's Canadian fixed income team, as he focuses on managing U.S. corporate bond mandates.

New portfolio manager assignment on Fidelity's AsiaStar® Fund
Fidelity Investments Canada ULC today also announced that effective July 1, 2012, Henry Chan, portfolio manager of Fidelity AsiaStar® Fund, will be assuming additional portfolio manager responsibilities for Fidelity Far East Fund. Chan succeeds Joseph Tse who has made the personal decision to leave Fidelity. Joining Chan on Fidelity AsiaStar as co-portfolio manager is Eileen Dibb who will be responsible for managing the Japanese equity portion of the portfolio.
Before joining Fidelity in 2011, Chan was responsible for Asian investment policy at Baring Asset Management. He was head of the Asia investment team, with specialist research responsibilities for Greater China markets. Chan also had the lead portfolio management role in Baring's Asian institutional mandates and flagship retail products. Previously, he managed Greater China Fund Inc. and co-managed Baring China Absolute Return Fund and Baring Korea Trust. He earned a bachelor's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is a Certified Professional Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Dibb is a portfolio manager at Pyramis Global Advisors, a unit of Fidelity Investments. She manages Japan equity portfolios for institutional clients. Prior to assuming her current role at Pyramis, Dibb was responsible for researching and analyzing Asian stocks for a global equity portfolio managed by Fidelity Investments. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2005, Dibb was vice president and regional analyst at Wellington Management Company, where she managed dedicated Japan portfolios. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Japanese Studies from Bucknell University and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a program of study at the Center for Japanese Studies at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan and is fluent in Japanese. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, and is a former board member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
