Fidelity Veteran Selected to Continue Growth Momentum
TORONTO, June 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Fidelity Clearing CanadaULCi, a provider of clearing, custody and back-office support services to Canada-based brokerage firms and a part of Fidelity's U.S.-based clearing business, National Financial®, today announced that Todd Roadman has been appointed chief executive officeii.
Roadman's affiliation with Fidelity Clearing Canada is effective immediately. He will officially assume his role as CEO once all regulatory prerequisites have been satisfied.
A 13-year-veteran of the brokerage industry, Roadman most recently served as chief financial officer of National Financial. He is based in Toronto and reports to Sanjiv Mirchandani, president of National Financial.
"With his extensive financial services experience, both within the Fidelity enterprise and in the broader domestic and international arena, Todd was the obvious choice to lead Fidelity Clearing Canada during this pivotal stage in its development," said Mirchandani. "Within a relatively short time frame, the Fidelity Clearing Canada business has been able to generate tremendous momentum, and I am confident that under Todd's leadership we will continue on that growth trajectory."
Roadman succeeds retiring CEO William J. Henderson who has led the firm since April of 2010.
As CEO, Roadman will oversee client management, new business development, day-to-day operations, and new product and systems development.
Since the launch of the business in September of 2009, Fidelity Clearing Canada has established relationships with 20 Canadian broker-dealers.
"With three new client conversions in the last quarter alone and several additional implementations planned through the remainder of the year, this is an exciting time to be a part of the Fidelity Clearing Canada business," said Roadman. "I look forward to continuing the positive momentum for Fidelity Clearing Canada and, most importantly, to helping our clients accelerate their growth through our advanced technology and business resources."
Prior to his tenure with Fidelity Investments -- which also included serving as vice president, distribution finance for Fidelity Personal and Workplace Investing -- Roadman worked for E*TRADE Financial. During his tenure with the firm, which spanned from 1999 to 2007, he held various financial roles, the last of which was senior vice president, Retail Financial Planning & Business Analysis.
