Fidus Systems awarded multi-million dollar Medical electronics development
Fidus to develop revolutionary new system to assist in surgery
KITCHENER, ON, June 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Fidus Systems, a leader in electronic product development, staff augmentation, and consulting, is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a multi-million dollar, multi-year contract to assist in the development of a revolutionary new surgical system. The system will empower today's surgeons by pairing sub-miniature electronics with sophisticated processing technology. The product will rely on Fidus' expertise designing advanced electronic systems.
"This is a phenomenal opportunity to contribute to the creation of a revolutionary new medical product," said Michael Wakim, Fidus President/CEO. "We will utilize our expertise with Xilinx FPGAs, embedded microcontrollers, hardware, and signal integrity, to create a system that empowers surgeons while not further complicating the Operating Room. This is particularly close to home after recently undergoing spinal surgery myself."
Fidus will complete this development by mobilizing experts from all three design centers - Kitchener, San Jose, and Ottawa.
