OAKVILLE, ON, June 26, 2012 /CNW/ - (Golf Canada) - The field for Canada's National Open Championship continues to strengthen as Golf Canada and RBC announced today that 12 more notables have indicated their intent to play the 2012 RBC Canadian Open, July 23-29 at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
Among the list of players added to the field include Paul Casey, Brandt Snedeker, Jason Day, Charl Schwartzel, Kyle Stanley, Justin Leonard, Bo Van Pelt, Jonathan Byrd, Stuart Appleby and Marc Leishman, winner of this past weekend's Travelers Championship.
The group joins an RBC Canadian Open field that includes previously announced headliners 2012 PLAYERS champion Matt Kuchar, two-time Canadian Open champion Jim Furyk, 2012 US Open champion Webb Simpson, 2-time major winner Retief Goosen, World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els and world No. 10 ranked Hunter Mahan as well as defending RBC Canadian Open champion Sean O'Hair.
Golf Canada and RBC also confirmed today that PGA TOUR fan-favourite John Daly, a 5-time PGA TOUR winner and 2-time major winner has accepted a tournament exemption to compete at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Also accepting a tournament exemption is former PLAYERS and British Open champion David Duval.
The following players have been added to the field for the 103rd playing of Canada's National Open Championship, July 23-29 at Hamilton Golf and Country Club:

Players have until 5:00 pm ET on Friday, July 20 to officially confirm their intention to compete in the 2012 RBC Canadian Open.
On July 3, Golf Canada and RBC will announce a list of Canadians and other international competitors that have been extended tournament exemptions to compete in the 2012 RBC Canadian Open.
RBC signs #10 Ranked Player in the World Hunter Mahan
RBC today announced that it has added WGC Accenture Champion, 5-time PGA TOUR winner and US Ryder Cup member Hunter Mahan to its roster of brand ambassadors who will carry the bank's brand at tournaments around the world.
