FIGR Subsidiary Records Prince Edward Island's First-Ever Sale of Legal Recreational Cannabis

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE, Oct. 17, 2018 /CNW/ - (9:01 a.m. AST, October 17, 2018) This morning, FIGR recorded the first-ever legal recreational cannabis sale on Prince Edward Island, and likely one of the first sales in Canada.

FIGR's P.E.I. operation is one of a few companies contracted to supply P.E.I. with legal recreational cannabis, and currently provides the only locally-grown cannabis available to adult consumers on the Island.

The company's P.E.I. operation employs more than 25 people, with intentions of increasing staff numbers to upwards of 200 employees by 2020. The cannabis cultivation facility is 24,000 square feet and is well into an expansion that will grow the facility to over 300,000 square feet.

FIGR products are available for legal recreational purchase by adult consumers at three PEIMC retailers across P.E.I. as of today. Sales to medical patients in Canada will remain under the current branding of Canada's Island Garden.
