Film Festival to pay tribute to Veterans in Fort Macleod - Member of Parliament John Barlow announces support for commemorative project Français
HIGH RIVER, AB, Nov. 6, 2014 /CNW/ - John Barlow, Member of Parliament for Macleod, today announced Government of Canada funding to the Empress Theatre Society for a film festival to honour Canada's Veterans. Mr. Barlow made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Presented by the Empress Theatre Society, the Canadian Forces Memorial Film Festival will run from November 7-9 and will include lectures and on-stage interviews with Veterans. The film and documentary screenings will illustrate the context and conditions of military action and highlight Canada's role in D-Day, Normandy, Italy and Northern Europe during the First and Second World Wars. The Empress Theatre Society will invite local cadet units to participate in the film festival.
