Final call for nominations! Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector

The deadline for all nominations is February 8, 2013

OTTAWA, Jan. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Certified Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) have issued its final call for nominations for the fifth annual Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector. Don't miss out on this opportunity to nominate individuals at www.comptrollershipaward.com for their significant contributions to financial management or comptrollership within the Government of Canada.

All nominations may be submitted via email to [email protected] until the last day of the nomination period: Friday, February 8, 2013. With the deadline quickly approaching, nominators are asked to submit their completed application form(s) as soon as possible.

Any person within the Government of Canada, as well as the general public, is eligible to submit a nomination for the Innovation, Financial Leadership (CFO) or Lifetime Achievement award categories. An independent selection committee comprised of senior public servants and industry experts will judge and determine the award winners.

This year's selection committee includes:

• Heather Buchan - President, Financial Management Institute of Canada
• Anne-Marie Gammon - Vice President, Program Development, CMA Canada
• Bruce Manion - Public Servant in Residence, Dalhousie University
• Richard Monk - President & CEO, msight global inc.
• James Ralston - Comptroller General of Canada
• Joy Thomas - President and CEO, CMA Canada
• Michael Wernick - Deputy Minister, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada

The award recipients will be revealed at the awards dinner sponsored by the Association of Canadian Financial Officers and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to be held on May 8, 2013, at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa. They will receive national recognition for their achievements and their innovations will serve as a model for how other public sector entities and individuals can enhance their financial management performance, and meet accountability objectives to the highest possible standards.
