NS, NB, PEI and NL Provincial Bantam AAA Hockey Champions Preparing for Halifax
HALIFAX, March 20, 2012 /CNW/ - After provincial tournament action this past weekend, the 34 team Atlantic Bantam AAA Hockey league is down to the final four Provincial Champions, who are now on their way to the 21st Annual Irving Oil Challenge Cup in Halifax.
Representing Nova Scotia, in addition to the Irving Oil Challenge Cup host team Halifax Irving Oil ACCEL Hawks, is the provincial champion team, Bubba Rays Irving Oil Gulls. Team New Brunswick is the Dieppe Irving Oil Flyers. The Pownal Irving Oil Red Devils have been selected as Team PEI, and Team Newfoundland & Labrador is Mark's Irving Oil Dakota Wild.
"With this year's tournament hosted in Halifax, our players are especially excited to represent their home province for the first time ever," said Chris Driscoll, Coach of the Bubba Rays Irving Oil Gulls. "We're looking forward to bringing our game to a whole new level at the Irving Oil Challenge Cup."

This season has been quite a journey for our team - all of the players have displayed incredible determination and commitment to get to this championship and we're looking forward to giving our all in Halifax," said Tyler White, Coach of the Pownal Irving Oil Red Devils.
"It's an honour to qualify for the Irving Oil Challenge Cup and have our club represent New Brunswick for the second year in a row - our returning members learned a lot from last year's tournament and we all knew it would take extremely hard work to reach this tournament again," said Alex Armsworthy, Coach of the Dieppe Irving Oil Flyers.
"The team has been preparing for the Irving Oil Challenge Cup all season - we competed in a really tough provincial tournament to qualify," said Bernard R. Thompson, Coach of the Mark's Irving Oil Dakota Wild. "To our players, the Irving Oil Challenge Cup is an unforgettable experience - thanks to Irving Oil and the Host Committee, they're treated like hockey stars."
This year's Irving Oil Challenge Cup will be hosted in Halifax from March 29th to April 1st at the Halifax Forum. Irving Oil has supported every team in the Atlantic Bantam AAA hockey league on an annual basis for over 20 years, supporting over 20,000 young athletes in communities across the region.
