Atlantic entrepreneurs are turning bold ideas into business realities
HALIFAX, July 18, 2019 /CNW/ - Each year EY recognizes unstoppable entrepreneurs who are bettering the world around them and cutting through the noise of this Transformative Age. Today, the firm named 27 finalists across 7 categories in its EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards 2019 Atlantic program.
"This year's finalists have impressed us with their unique stories of entrepreneurial and personal growth," says Gina Kinsman, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Atlantic Program Director. "They truly have an unstoppable spirit that's pushing them to overcome barriers while inspiring innovation, leading with purpose and building dynamic businesses that have a positive impact on local economies and communities along the way."
The EY Global Capital Confidence Barometer finds that despite geopolitical, trade and economic concerns, entrepreneurs remain positive as they take advantage of ongoing global and local economic growth, opportunities to thoughtfully leverage M&A and use technology to improve agility and gain a competitive edge. Atlantic entrepreneurs are no different. They're putting concerns to the side and pushing ahead to transform the region and fuel growth.
"We continue to see the Emerging Entrepreneur category grow with a number of new businesses addressing gaps in the market and disrupting traditional industries," says Kinsman. "Mature businesses remain agile and are navigating continuously changing consumer preferences and technology-driven competition. We're honoured to recognize the achievements of this year's finalists."
