Québec entrepreneurs are embracing the Transformative Age
MONTRÉAL, July 17, 2019 /CNW/ - Each year EY recognizes unstoppable entrepreneurs who are bettering the world around them and cutting through the noise of this Transformative Age. Today, the firm named 39 finalists across 11 categories in its EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards 2019 Québec program.
"It's exciting to watch Québec's entrepreneurial landscape transform over time, each year bearing new unstoppable leaders who identify gaps in the market and transform industries," says Luc Charbonneau, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Québec Program Co-Director. "One of the biggest shifts has been towards technology adoption. Whether it's starting new companies, adopting digital tools or acquiring new capabilities, these entrepreneurs are weaving technology into everything they do to improve agility and gain a competitive edge."
"Corporate responsibility is another theme that continues to grow in the program each year," says Daniel Baer, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Québec Program Co-Director. "Entrepreneurs are not just filling market gaps, they're meeting the needs of the broader community. A new Sustainability category in the region this year is testament that these entrepreneurs are acting with purpose to fuel sustainable growth and prosperity beyond the walls of their business."
Beyond these themes, the EY Global Capital Confidence Barometer shows that entrepreneurs are continuing to build resilience into their businesses through M&A and strengthening financial discipline as they pursue fast growth. Together, this year's Québec finalists employ nearly 6,600 people and generate annual revenues of more than $2 billion.
