A finance and information technology hub: 1 day, 5 contests, $50,000 in prizes
MONTREAL, Oct. 15, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Finance Montréal, Quebec's financial cluster, is pleased to announce that it will host the first edition of the FinTech 2013 Conference, under the honorary presidency of Mr. Henri-Paul Rousseau, Vice-Chairman of the Power Financial Corporation Board of Directors. This event will be held at the Mont-Royal Centre, in the heart of downtown Montréal, on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
The FinTech 2013 Conference, a finance and information technology hub, is intended to help participants in the financial and information technology sectors become more aware of the development of financial software systems. "Finance Montréal's FinTech 2013 Conference will help discover new talent and will contribute to the visibility of Montréal's financial technology expertise," said Eric Lemieux, Chief Executive Officer of Finance Montréal.
The FinTech 2013 Conference will feature keynote speeches from CGI President and CEO, Michael Roach, as well as former Chief Economist with CIBC World Markets, Jeff Rubin. "While contributing to heightening Montréal's reputation as an international financial center, the FinTech 2013 Conference will help Montréal distinguish itself on the world stage for its financial software system development skills", said Henri-Paul Rousseau.
The conference program includes an exhibit hall and presentations of the best research projects submitted in the Relève universitaire contest, the Développeurs corporatifs contest and, the jury's choice award, the Découverte FinTech 2013 contest. The contests registration period opens on November 15, 2012, and contests topics will be announced at the same time. The Forum will end with a cocktail reception, where the winners of the contests will receive their prizes.
