Financial Advice for All, available this FinLit month and every month to follow
The largest association of financial advisors in Canada is putting a new spin on financial literacy.
TORONTO, Nov. 7, 2018 /CNW/ - November is financial literacy (FinLit) month and Advocis is proud to announce the launch of a new, consumer focused, website and podcast called Financial Advice for All.
This website is full of easy-to-use tools and bite-sized information on all things FinLit. Calculate mortgage expenses, compare differing debt interest rates, and find the latest podcast on financial planning all in one place. Advisors and consumers of all ages can now listen to industry experts discuss the latest in personal finance on-the-go.
"The theme for this FinLit month is establishing financial well-being. This requires a well thought-out financial plan that grows with you," says Greg Pollock, President and CEO of Advocis and member of the National Steering Committee on Financial Literacy. "With the launch of Financial Advice for All, we've taken a new approach to discussing personal finances. We're providing consumers with clear information that gets straight to the point. It's about having a suitable, and realistic overarching plan for your finances. It's also about developing sound financial habits."
Financial Literacy month brings organizations together within the public, private and non-profit sectors to participate in country-wide workshops, seminars and events geared towards strengthening financial literacy. In addition to the launch of Financial Advice for All and the podcast, Advocis advisors champion financial literacy within their local communities through ongoing volunteer work. Members have also partnered with Junior Achievement to inspire and prepare youth to succeed by providing opportunities to learn financial literacy year-round.
