First Closures on L'Île-des-Sœurs Pointe Nord - Night-Time Closures

LONGUEUIL, QC, April 26 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to announce the start of construction on Viaduct 3 which will cause the night-time closure of Exit 57 N from Highway 15 South as well as of l'île-des-Sœurs Boulevard North and South located under the Bonaventure on ramp (Viaduct AB).

These closures will occur on the night of Thursday, April 29 to Friday, April 30 from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Please note that l'île-des-Sœurs Boulevard toward Pointe Nord will also be closed from 9:00 PM from the traffic circle at the intersection of Place du commerce and l'île-des-Sœurs Boulevard.

These closures will allow formwork for the new Viaduct 3 to be completed. Detours will be indicated to facilitate traffic in the area. Users coming from Highway 15 South should use Exit 57 to access Pointe Nord on L'Île-des-Sœurs. In the opposite direction, a detour via Brossard and Highway 15 North will be indicated to access Pointe Nord on the island.

Partial daytime blocking of l'île-des-Sœurs Boulevard is anticipated over the subsequent weeks in order to complete the form and cement work begun at night.
