TORONTO, Feb. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - For the provincial By-election in the electoral district of Whitby-Oshawa, eligible voters were provided with more days and more ways to cast their ballots in advance of Election Day, Thursday, February 11, 2016. Advance voting opportunities included the option to vote special ballot by mail, in person at the local returning office or by home visit along with the choice to vote over seven days of advance polls.
As of Monday, February 8, 2016, preliminary figures indicate that 6861 voters have cast their ballots for the upcoming provincial By-election in Whitby-Oshawa. By comparison, for the 2014 General Election, 6613 voters cast their ballot through advance polls in Whitby-Oshawa.
Election Day is on Thursday, February 11, 2016, where there will be approximately 655 election workers at 70 voting locations across the electoral district. Eligible voters are encouraged to visit elections.on.ca to find out where, when and how to vote.
