First Investors Life Reminds Americans to Insure Their Love This February
NEW YORK, Feb 2, 2015 /CNW/ - According to LIMRA, the worldwide insurance trade association, 65% of adults agree they need life insurance and 30% of US households have no life insurance at all. That's why this February, First Investors Life would like to remind everyone to not only show their love, but to "insure their love," too.
It's nice to receive the typical Valentine's Day gifts, flowers, candy or dinner out. But what about something with a more long-lasting impact, such as the financial security you can obtain from life insurance? It's the ultimate gift of love.
"At First Investors Life, we believe that taking care of your loved ones is one of the best gifts you can give," says Carol Springsteen, President of First Investors Life. "And there's no better time to create a more secure future for your family than during the month of February, which is synonymous with love."
There are many reasons why people don't have any, or enough, life insurance, including:
- They don't know what type of insurance to get.
- They don't think anything bad will happen to them.
- They believe it's too expensive.
- They choose to use their money for other financial commitments.
To help dispel some of these myths and change people's perceptions, First Investors Life has teamed up with Life Happens, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the importance of adequate life insurance coverage.
"We are proud to partner with Life Happens this year," says Larry Noyes, President of First Investors Corporation. "They understand that life insurance is a difficult topic to broach with clients. That's why they provide advisors with valuable research, resources and materials to enable them to speak with their clients effectively and compassionately about this critically important issue."
Life Happens spokesperson, Retired NFL Most Valuable Player Boomer Esiason, lost his mother when he was just 7 years old. He shares his personal story about his own loss to help others, and explains, "When a parent dies and there's no life insurance, life becomes very tough, very fast."
While it's true that Americans are living longer, accidents and illness can, and do, happen at any age. Mr. Esiason's story reminds us of that. Ensuring that you have adequate life insurance to protect your family can help ease the financial burden that can occur with the loss of a loved one.
Life insurance can be confusing, but the representatives at First Investors can explain complexities between the many life insurance and annuity options available today, to make decision making easier.
Do yourself and your family a favor this February by sitting down with your Representative and "insure your love". He or she can walk you through the various life insurance policies that are available, so you can make the most appropriate choice for you and your family.
First Investors believes that adequate life insurance coverage should be a critical component of any financial planning strategy. There's simply no better gift than the security your family will feel just knowing that they will be taken care of if something were to happen to you.
