First Nation Youth and Leaders Running for Healthy Lifestyles at the 4th Annual IndigenACTION Friendship Run at AFN Annual General Assembly Français
OTTAWA, July 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo will join the AFN National Youth Council, Chiefs and other participants, for the 4th Annual IndigenACTION Friendship Run/Walk taking place next week during the AFN Annual General Assembly in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Co-hosted with Athletics Yukon and sponsored by Tim Hortons with additional support from Nike N7 and Sportslife, the 5km Run/Walk is a fun, recreational event promoting healthy lifestyles.
Launched July 2010, IndigenACTION aims to foster partnerships that will help ensure Indigenous peoples in Canada have every opportunity to enhance their lives and their communities through community fitness, wellness, sport and recreation. It has helped to grow and build up partnerships with Tim Hortons, Nike N7, Rick Hansen Foundation and Just Move It. A report released July 2012 by IndigenACTION Ambassador Waneek Horn-Miller outlines the findings of three national roundtable sessions identifying current best practices in Indigenous sport and wellness and areas requiring improvement.
The IndigenACTION Friendship Run/Walk is open to all, registration is available on site.
