CALGARY, Nov. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - The ProActive Communication Team (PACT) announced the first tentative agreement between WestJet and the Flight Attendant Association Board (FAAB) has not passed. The agreement was voted down by 57 per cent of votes. Turnout was very strong with 90 per cent of eligible flight attendants voting.
"While I'm disappointed by the outcomes, there are some great things that we can take away from our first round of negotiations" says Anthony Pascale, Chair of the Flight Attendant Association Board (FAAB). "We will survey our members in the coming weeks, and re-engage them in the New Year".
"First of all, I would like to thank the Flight Attendant Association Board (FAAB), its negotiating team and all WestJet flight attendants for their hard work and dedication during the negotiations" says Antonio Faiola, PACT Chair and employee representative on WestJet's Board of Directors. "Although this is not the outcomes we had hoped, I'm encourage by the level of engagement by our members who continue to enjoy industry leading total compensation package".
