TORONTO, May 10, 2017 /CNW/ - BMO Financial Group, CIBC, Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank and TD Bank Group are donating $500,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the devastating flooding in Québec, Ontario, BC and New Brunswick.
Conrad Sauvé, President and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross, notes that local Red Cross volunteers have been activated in communities across the country. "Our team is on the ground providing emergency support services, from shelter and lodging, to information and first-aid as needed," says Mr. Sauvé. "The support from the banks and all Canadians allows us to help individuals, families and entire communities recover from the damaging effects of the flooding."
Donations to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Spring Floods 2017 Appeal are being accepted at all five banks, effective May 11. To directly support impacted populations inside Québec, donations should be made to Spring Flood 2017 Appeal, Québec Designation.
The banks are committed to helping those impacted by the flooding and we recognize the personal circumstances of individual clients and will work with them during these challenging times. Clients are encouraged to contact their bank for details on available financial relief programs.
