MONTREAL, Sept. 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada ("Standard Life") is pleased to announce the appointment of five vice-presidents to the company's senior management team.
Bruce Williams, Vice-President, Corporate Strategy and Development
Bruce Williams recently joined Standard Life to lead corporate development for Canadian initiatives, such as joint ventures, alliances, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Williams' professional background is in strategic consulting and retail, commercial and wealth management banking at the national and international levels. He has led front-line sales and service operations across various distribution channels and been responsible for finance, risk, marketing, electronic banking and compliance functions. His experience includes the implementation of transformational initiatives, such as start-ups and turnarounds, and the development of new markets and value propositions.
Mr. Williams holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree from McGill University.
Anouk Hébert, Vice-President, Group Insurance, Customer Experience
Anouk Hébert is responsible for the delivery of health and absence management services across Canada. She also manages delivery of the company's Group Insurance claims services, provided by TELUS Health which supplies systems and services for group insurance claims at Standard Life.
Ms. Hébert has extensive experience in group insurance and disability management. She joined Standard Life in 2000 and served as Associate Vice-President, Health and Absence Management, before being named vice-president. She began her career in health and disability management with a life insurance company.
Ms. Hébert earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the l'Université du Québec à Montréal.
Christiane Vachon, Vice-President, Compliance, Financial Crime and Privacy Officer
Christiane Vachon previously worked in private practice and as in-house counsel in Montréal and Toronto focusing on legal affairs, compliance, privacy and anti-money-laundering for financial institutions and securities dealers.
Ms. Vachon holds a LLM (Business Law) from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. She is a member of the Québec Bar and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Ingrid Gendreau, Vice-President, Legal Affairs
Ingrid Gendreau joined Standard Life as Associate General Counsel in 2009 specializing in contracts, reinsurance and real estate. She recently assumed additional responsibility for legal services related to products, litigation and claims.
Ms. Gendreau began her legal career in private practice then worked in-house focusing on commercial, corporate and reinsurance matters.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, McGill University, where she obtained degrees in civil law (BCL) and common law (LLB). She is a member of the Québec Bar.
Annie Pelchat, Vice-President, Total Rewards and Human Resources Operations
Annie Pelchat is responsible for compensation, pension, group benefits, including health and wellness initiatives, as well as payroll and human resources information systems. She joined Standard Life in 2010 as Assistant Vice-President, Total Rewards. She previously worked in compensation in the banking sector.
Ms. Pelchat holds a Bachelor of Industrial Relations (BSc) degree from the Université de Montréal and a Masters in Human Resources Management (MSc) from HEC Montréal.
