FLARE Magazine Announces Media Partnership with Toronto Fashion Incubator in
Support of the 2011/2012 TFI New Labels® Fashion Design Competition & Show
TORONTO, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - FLARE magazine is proud to continue its 30 plus years of supporting, promoting and honouring Canadian fashion talent with an exciting new partnership. As the newly announced media partner FLARE will support Toronto Fashion Incubator - a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing creative entrepreneurs within the fashion community - in the promotion of TFI's New Labels® Fashion Design Competition & Show.
Renowned for its innovation, originality and exceptional design, FLARE will leverage its vast network throughout print and broadcast channels, plus social and digital media, to increase awareness and strengthen the success of TFI's New Labels® program. "Canada's upcoming fashion design talent requires support to build strong successful businesses. FLARE and Rogers Publishing are proud to partner with the Toronto Fashion Incubator's New Labels Show and thrilled to see the continuing growth of the next fashion generation," said Kerry Mitchell, Vice-President, Rogers Publishing Ltd., Publisher, FLARE.
Now in its 19th successful year, TFI New Labels® Fashion Design Competition & Show is held every April and has launched the careers of many of Canada's top designers including David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc and Mercy, to name just a few. With a $10,000 cash prize and a FLARE prize package valued at over $30,000; the annual fashion design competition is open to professional Canadian women's wear apparel designers who have been in business 3 years or less.
Both champions of Canadian talent, TFI and FLARE have a long-standing relationship. "Toronto Fashion Incubator is one of the first of its kind in the global fashion industry. Without it, the Canadian fashion landscape would not have experienced the rapid evolution of such exciting new talent. I have long admired the progressive thinking and influence of TFI," said Lisa Tant, Associate Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, FLARE. Further endorsing the partnership, Susan Langdon, Executive Director, TFI said "With FLARE's support, our non-profit organization can continue to assist burgeoning talents and make a difference in the lives of new fashion designers."
