FlightHub and JustFly Suggest Planning a Trip to One of These Romantic Cities This Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is only a month away! It's time to start planning that romantic getaway with that special someone.
MONTREAL, Jan. 16, 2020 /CNW/ - Some claim Valentine's Day is a bit silly. According to such people, it's a holiday for selling chocolates and flowers and jewelry, and they aren't entirely wrong. But it is rather well-timed, considering January can feel like a featureless winter fog, especially after all the festivities which precede it. It's a well-needed shot of passion to keep us warm until the spring thaw, and a perfect opportunity (or excuse) for a spontaneous midwinter getaway. Now, that might sound well and good for somebody already coupled up, but what about those bachelors and bachelorettes seeking a connection? Well, as any romcom will demonstrate, romance is greatly accelerated by shared experience. For longtime lovers, a good vacation will deepen and strengthen what's already there. For those newly pursuing a romantic prospect, or just taking the first steps into a relationship, a weekend trip can be a great test run, or else be a chance to bump into a stranger. In that spirit, here are some cities to check out with someone special this Valentine's Day, courtesy of Flighthub and Justfly.
New York City: NYC is great for both long-established couples and courageous singles on a test run, for multiple reasons. More so than our other destinations (depending where one lives) New York might be more feasible for a weekend road trip, which should suit those who aren't sure they want to dedicate a huge vacation to someone they don't know is the one. NYC sports incredible restaurants, memorable sights, romcom connotations, and plenty of activities to fii think l the time if the conversation gets a bit awkward. Hopefully a Breakfast at Tiffany's moment is in store.
Honolulu: Of course, it makes sense that one might be inclined towards a more temperate climate to break up the winter blues and get the heart pumping, and Hawaii is never a wrong choice. Hawaiian culture is just as warm and inviting as the climate, enough to set the mind at ease. Honolulu is of course a great beach city, mixing island flavor with modern metropolis. Explore the town and the beach, and head out onto the island for some more rural scenery (all great backdrops for romantic moments).
Rio de Janeiro: For a different variety of waterfront city, Rio fits the bill. Mountains, beach, samba dancing into the night, the roar of a soccer stadium in the day, it all comes together as a perfectly exotic romantic adventure. Sounds like a memorable Valentine's Day to us.
Paris: It would be scandalous to leave The City of Love off this list. What could be chicer than running off to Paris with the S.O.? While posing in front of the Eiffel Tower might be a bit too much, a picnic with a bottle of wine on the bank of the Seine is appealing any day, but especially on Valentine's Day.
