Foley Restoration Disaster Kleenup to receive Fire Safety Award
TORONTO, June 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Foley Restoration Disaster Kleenup will receive a Fire Safety Award from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony on June 26, 2012 in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.
Based in Schomberg, Foley Restoration Disaster Kleenup has been servicing York Region and the surrounding area for the past 20 years. When King Fire & Emergency Services was seeking donations for the purchase of a fire safety trailer, it approached Foley Restoration to see if they would be interested in contributing. Without hesitation, the family-owned business donated the entire purchase price of $7,000.
The fire safety trailer is a key component of the fire department's public education activities. It is a regular feature at community events and makes annual visits to every elementary school in the Region. The trailer has helped King Fire & Emergency Services to reach more than 2,000 children with important fire safety information about home escape planning, fire prevention and working smoke alarms.
"Thanks to the generosity of Foley Restoration Disaster Kleenup, the Township of King has a valuable new tool that will help to educate residents throughout York Region for years to come," said Ted Wieclawek, Ontario Fire Marshal.
The Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council gratefully acknowledges the support of its sponsors in this event: Technical Standards and Safety Authority, The Co-operators Group, Kidde Canada Inc., Home Depot of Canada Inc., Proctor & Gamble Inc., Domino's Pizza of Canada, Electrical Safety Authority, Canadian Standards Association Group and Enbridge Gas Distribution.
