<p>OAKVILLE, Ontario, <span class="xn-chron">June 2</span> /CNW/ -- Follett of <span class="xn-location">Canada</span> (FOC), the nation's leading provider of bookstore services, will launch its textbook rental program for professionally managed bookstores in <span class="xn-location">Canada</span>. The new Rent-A-Text pilot program will begin in select Canadian college and university bookstores this fall. Students who rent their textbooks can save 50 percent or more compared to the price of a new textbook.</p>

<p>Launching in six FOC bookstore locations for the 2010 academic term, Follett anticipates making Rent-A-Text available to all FOC managed bookstores across five provinces for the 2011 academic year.</p>
<p/>
<p>The program will be managed by two FOC regional managers - Kim Quarrie based in Ontario and Patricia MacAulay based in <span class="xn-location">Quebec</span>. With rental, FOC will continue to draw on materials and merchandise sourced from Canadian publishers.</p>

    --  Allow students the freedom to highlight and take notes all within the
        normal wear and tear associated with coursework
    --  Give students the choice to buy their textbook at the end of the term

<p>Follett of <span class="xn-location">Canada</span> plans to build on the success of the Rent-A-Text program in the <span class="xn-location">United States</span>.  Rent-A-Text will reach more than 600 campus bookstores in the <span class="xn-location">United States</span> during the 2010 academic year and is expected to save students millions of dollars.</p>
