For the children of Sainte-Justine - Quebec Maple Syrup Producers to donate
$25,000
LONGUEUIL, QC, Nov. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - For the 5th year running, the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers is pleased to partner with IGA and Les Sucreries Beaurivage in supporting the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation, with their mission of providing Quebec's children, teenagers and expecting mothers the best possible care they need. This year our producers will be donating a record $25,000. The money is raised through sales of the special Christmas edition maple syrup can featuring a child's contest-winning design. The can is on sale from November 5 to December 31, 2010 at all Quebec IGA and IGA Extra stores.
"We care about our children's health. We would like to thank our customers who directly contribute to this cause by purchasing this maple syrup can," said Mr. Serge Beaulieu, President of the FPAQ.
50,000 special edition cans of medium maple syrup have been produced for sale. The label features the artwork of Rébecca Roy of Tring-Jonction in Chaudière-Appalaches, with a design inspired by the 2009 theme of "Christmas at a maple grove with Siropcool". Her prize was a week at a 2010 Summer Camp with a friend. The contest for the 2011 maple syrup can is currently underway and closes on December 31. Details can be found at www.siropcool.com
