Forevermark US Announces Top Canadian Jewelers Selected to Carry Forevermark Diamonds
VANCOUVER, May 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Twenty-two jewelers from across Canada have been selected as the first retailers to carry Forevermark, the new diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies. Forevermark diamonds are only eligible to be Forevermark if they have met strict standards of quality, business, social and environmental integrity at every step of their journey. This is the first time these rare, precious jewels will be available in Canada.
In opening remarks at an exclusive event in Vancouver, Forevermark US President Charles Stanley noted, "As part of our steady, global expansion, Forevermark is thrilled to announce the launch of Forevermark Canada to the trade. Having proudly incorporated a carefully-selected, industry-respected family of partners here in the US, Forevermark, with high hopes, welcomes its Canadian partners."
A majority of the Forevermark diamonds will originate from the De Beers Canada Snap Lake Mine in the NWT and the Victor Mine in Ontario, before being cut and polished by Vancouver-headquartered Crossworks Manufacturing Ltd. at its facilities in Sudbury, ON and Yellowknife, NWT. These Canadian diamonds are among the most sought after in the world, as they are genuine, natural, conflict-free, untreated, responsibly sourced, and contribute to surrounding communities in which they are mined, cut and polished.
"We are pleased to be cutting and polishing these rare Canadian diamonds for exquisite pieces of jewelry," said Dylan Dix, Director, Marketing and External Relations, Crossworks Manufacturing Ltd. "Crossworks has more than 30 employees trained to cut and polish these extremely high-quality gems."
Last weekend, representatives from 22 retail stores viewed several of the available pieces in order to place bids to order diamond jewelry for their stores. Within the next several weeks, Forevermark pieces will be carried at these Canadian luxury jewelry stores:
"I am very happy that De Beers is entering Canada through Forevermark," says Norbert Brinkhaus, owner of Brinkhaus Jewels. "They have partnered with a great Canadian diamond manufacturer to bring this special brand to our market. Forevermark offers the consumer the confidence that they are purchasing one of the world's most carefully selected diamonds. It will be a great opportunity for Canadian diamond market."
Notes to Editors:
ABOUT FOREVERMARK
Every Forevermark diamond is inscribed with a promise; a promise that it is beautiful, rare and responsible sourced. Less than one per cent of the world's diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond and be inscribed with the Forevermark icon and individual number.
Forevermark is a diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies and as such, benefits from over 120 years of diamond expertise. Forevermark diamonds are carefully selected and come from sources committed to high standards; are beautifully crafted by a select group of diamantaires; and are exclusively available in select jewelers.
FOREVERMARK INSCRIPTION & GRADING
Less than one per cent of the world's diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond and be inscribed with the Forevermark icon and individual identification number. Invisible to the naked eye, the inscription is made using bespoke technology from the De Beers group. It is also recorded on the personalized Forevermark identification card which comes with each and every Forevermark diamond. The actual size of the inscription found on Forevermark diamonds is only 1/20th of a micron deep and can only be seen using a special Forevermark viewer which can be found in Authorized Forevermark Jewelers. It is confirmed by leading gemological institutes that the Forevermark inscription does not affect the internal quality of a diamond in any way.
Authorized Forevermark Jewelers are able to provide a Forevermark Diamond Grading Report. It is an accurate blueprint of the qualities - cut, color, clarity and carat weight of each Forevermark diamond. The Forevermark Diamond Grading Report also features the individual identification number inscribed on the diamond and a specifically designed security hologram, providing reassurance that the Forevermark Diamond Grading Report is valid and genuine.
