TORONTO, June 16 /CNW/ - Ken Cochrane, former Chief Information Officer for the Government of Canada, has joined KPMG as a Partner.
Ken will be located in the firm's Ottawa office, where he will lead KPMG's IT Advisory Services, with a focus on technology-enabled transformation solutions. He will also co-lead the firm's National IT Advisory Services line, developing strategies and business plans for the public sector.
"Ken is one of the most respected technology leaders in Canada," said John Herhalt, Canadian Managing Partner, Advisory, KPMG. "He has a proven track record in serving government departments and building large technology teams. His knowledge and experience will help to drive the growth of our IT Advisory business, and will be particularly welcomed by our public sector clients."
Ken brings to the firm over 20 years of experience in the technology field in both the public and private sectors, including service as Federal Chief Information Officer of the Government of Canada from 2006 to 2008. "Ken takes a practical and hands-on approach to his work," says Herhalt. "He does not see himself as a technologist, but focuses on how technology enables and supports business objectives. This approach is consistent with KPMG's global technology strategy."
Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Carleton University in Ottawa, and is a graduate of the Information System Program at Algonquin College.
