Former NBA All-Star and Top 50 Player of All Time - Earl Monroe "Earl the Pearl" to Attend WAIS Bermuda
TORONTO, Aug. 31, 2016 /CNW/ - Former NBA all-star Earl Monroe, also well known as Earl the Pearl, will be attending the World Alternative Investment Summit Conference in Bermuda from September 28-30 at the Fairmont Southampton.
Once called the "ultimate playground player" Earl Monroe enjoyed a decorated 13-year career in the NBA, playing for both the Baltimore Bullets and the New York Knicks.
Monroe's feathery jump-shot, patented spin and unorthodox shots gained him fan and industry recognition; he played in four All-Star games and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. Monroe was named a Top 50 all time player; he retired in 1980 with a total of 17,454 points over 926 games.
Post career, Monroe has been just as successful off the court. He spent more than 30 years in the entertainment business, owning his own record label and publishing company as well as producing Broadway musicals, even winning the coveted Peabody award from his critically acclaimed documentary "Black Magic." He is also known as an entrepreneur, owning both two restaurants and a painting and flooring company. He is also a frequent motivational speaker.
Monroe left an indelible mark on basketball and beyond. He will be sure to leave a lasting impression on WAIS delegates too.
