Former NHL Players Lend Support to Brain Injury Education
TORONTO, April 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Keith Primeau and Ron Ellis are among a group of NHL alumni lending support to new brain injury guides for educators, parents and teens.
The guides were created by Dr. Stan Kutcher, MD, FRCPC, the Sun Life Financial Chair in Adolescent Mental Health, in collaboration with a team of international experts, and support Ontario's mandate for brain injury prevention and management in schools.
The guides are endorsed by a number of health and athletic organizations including Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) and stopconcussions.com that are helping launch the guides in Ontario.
This event will include remarks from Dr. Ian Dawe, Physician-in-Chief at Ontario Shores, Keith Primeau (scheduled), Dr. Stan Kutcher (live feed) and Catherine Fife, President of the Ontario Public School Boards' Association. Also in attendance at the event will be NHL alumni Wayne Primeau and Keith Acton.
