MONTRÉAL, Feb. 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Langlois lawyers, llp is pleased to announce that Pierre-Luc Desgagné, former Vice President – Corporate Affairs and Secretary General of Hydro-Québec, will be joining its business law team effective February 6, 2017.
He will be advising the firm's clients on matters involving energy law, environmental law, governance, transportation law, governmental affairs, statutory construction and negotiation strategy.
With extensive experience in both business and political circles, Mr. Desgagné is noted for his expertise in crisis management and public affairs. He has also acquired a keen appreciation for the importance of social acceptability in connection with project development.

An exemplary professional career
Immediately before joining Langlois lawyers, Mr. Desgagné was Vice President – Corporate Affairs and Secretary General at Hydro-Québec. During his 12 years there, he held several prominent positions, and specialized in strategic planning in the areas of public affairs, governmental relations and the development of a distribution grid for electric transport, which quickly developed into the largest public recharging network in Quebec. Prior to that, he served for four years as deputy chief of staff to former Quebec Premier Lucien Bouchard.
Deeply involved in the community for many years, Mr. Desgagné currently sits on the board of directors and executive committee of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, serves as treasurer of Pro Bono Québec, is a member of the board of directors of theatre company Compagnie Jean Duceppe and of the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations, and sits on the advisory board of WWF Quebec.
In 2007, Mr. Desgagné received the Arista award for Young Manager of the Year from the Young Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, and in 2016 was a finalist for the Business Strategy and Achievement Award, one of the ZSA Quebec General Counsel Awards.
