Four benefits of rustproofing your car
THORNHILL, ON, May 3, 2016 /CNW/ - Rust will not only damage your car's paint finish, but the reddish-brown coating can also cause mechanical problems and cut your vehicle's life short. That's why CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) recommends protecting your car against corrosion.
"Spring is a great time to rustproof your vehicle. The warm weather conditions allow for the spray products to seep easily into seams and provide thorough coverage," said Ryan Peterson, Manager Automotive Services, CAA SCO.
Benefits of rustproofing:
- Increases the resale value of your vehicle. A rust-free car is worth more to a buyer.
- Extends your car's lifespan. By properly protecting the undercarriage, body panels and mechanical parts your vehicle will last longer.
- Reduces repair costs. If left untreated, rust can spread to brake lines and cables, even your vehicle's electrical system.
- Safer vehicle. Over time corrosion will compromise the structural integrity of your car.
"Remember to inspect your vehicle regularly for signs of rust. The road salt and mild temperatures of this past winter may have accelerated the corrosion process," added Peterson.
