Four International Personalities Receive the Entrepreneurs for the World
Awards
LYON, France, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - Four international personalities have been awarded the 2010 Entrepreneurs for the World Awards during the 3rd edition of the World Entrepreneurship Forum (Lyon, France, 3 - 6 November). The Awards are granted annually to an entrepreneur, a social entrepreneur, an academic, and a politician in recognition of their remarkable entrepreneurial success and their commitment to the society.

Saluting his ability to turn a small Chinese-based start-up into the largest PC company in China, Mr. Liu Chuanzhi has received the Entrepreneur for the World award in the "Entrepreneur" category. Mr. Liu is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lenovo Group, and Chairman and President of Legend Holdings Limited, created in 1984 and parent company of Lenovo. In 2005, Lenovo Group acquired the former IBM Personal Computing Division. Today, Lenovo is the 4th largest PC manufacturer worldwide.
The Entrepreneur for the World Award, "Social Entrepreneur" category, honoured Ms. Ela R. Bhatt, the co-founder of Self-Employed Women's Association (gathers 1 million women entrepreneurs in India), in recognition of her impressive ability to mobilize poor populations around entrepreneurial goals. Bhatt was one of the founders of Women's World Banking, and a founding member of The Elders, a group of world leaders initiated by Nelson Mandela.
French Minister for Economy, Industry and Employment Ms. Christine Lagarde has received The Entrepreneur for the World award in the "Politician" category, for encouraging the development of entrepreneurial attitudes in society. She is the first women to ever become minister of Economic Affairs of a G8 economy. During her entire career, she demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial skills and her attitude during the economic crisis helped to prevent a major financial crisis in Europe.
Dr. Howard H. Stevenson has received the Entrepreneur for the World award in the "Expert" category as he is considered the founder of Entrepreneurship as an academic field. He is the Sarofim-Rock Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Dr. Stevenson has authored, edited or co-authored numerous books and articles, which are widely used by university professors around the world.
