EDMONTON, Nov. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - Service Alberta has appointed four new public board members to the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC), bringing the total to 11 members.
"These individuals each bring their own unique skills and experience that will strengthen and diversify the board overall," said Doug Lagore, CEO. "AMVIC is excited to work with the board to continue our essential work toward strengthening consumer protection."
Ayodola Dahunsi: As a foreign-trained lawyer, Dahunsi has several years' experience as in-house counsel and a certified bank examiner with a foreign federal regulatory agency. Considered a change driver, she attributes her success to her leadership strengths, and her ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of people to achieve a greater collective result.
Adrian Milczarek: Prior to his consulting career, Milczarek spent five years working for the provincial government with Service Alberta, developing and designing services and programs for other government ministries and Albertans. As a consultant, his areas of focus are in strategy development, innovation and business transformation for various automotive, transportation, government and oil and gas clients.
Phyllis (Bohachyk) Skousbol: Skousbol's post-secondary education is in Management Studies and certification as both an Advocate and Panel Member with the Foundations of Administrative Justice. After working in private industry, Bohachyk worked for the University of Alberta Hospital before moving to the Appeals Commission for Workers' Compensation Board of Alberta as a registrar, assisting clients and panels with the hearing process.
Todd Walsh: Walsh is the Executive Director at the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers' Compensation in Edmonton, Alberta and has been with the Appeals Commission for the past eight years. As a teacher, Todd was a member of the Alberta Teachers' Association, serving as treasurer for Wetaskiwin and Executive Director of Communications and Evaluation for the North Central Teachers' Convention.
The new members will participate in board orientation on Nov. 15 to learn how AMVIC operates, the important role AMVIC plays in Alberta's automotive industry and how the board provides overall guidance and direction.
"AMVIC's Board of Directors is crucial in steering AMVIC in the right direction," said Lagore. "These appointments will push AMVIC forward through our mandate of consumer protection and creating a fair marketplace within Alberta's automotive industry."
