Four outstanding Canadian directors honoured as the newest Fellows of the Institute of Corporate Directors

EDMONTON, June 12, 2012 /CNW/ - The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) officially inaugurated the 2012 ICD Fellows at the 15th Annual ICD Fellowship Awards Gala on May 30, 2012 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.

More than 850 leaders from Canada's business community attended the gala as the 2012 ICD Fellows were recognized for their exemplary leadership in boardrooms across Canada:

• Robert G. Bertram, F.ICD, CFA, ICD.D, Director, Nexen Inc. (Aurora, Ont.)
• Beverley A. Briscoe, F.ICD, FCA, Director, Goldcorp Inc. (Vancouver, B.C.)
• Richard Drouin, C.C., O.Q., Q.C., F.ICD, Chairman, Stonebridge Financial (Québec, Que.)
• Janice G. Rennie, F.ICD, FCA, Director, Teck Resources Limited (Edmonton, Alta.)

The ICD confers the F.ICD designation annually to a prominent group of directors who exemplify the distinct qualities of good governance in boardrooms across the country.

Previous ICD Fellowship inductees include: Ms. Eileen Mercier, MA, MBA, F.ICD, Chair, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (2009); Mr. Purdy Crawford, C.C., Q.C., ICD.D, F.ICD, Corporate Director (1999); and Mr. Hugh Bolton, FCA, F.ICD, Chair, EPCOR Utilities Inc. (2006).
